Library Expansion Minutes Archive Minutes of the Meeting of the The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. in the Senior Room at Lancaster City Hall by Alan Tollefson. Members Present: Stuart Harper, George Steele, Ted Anderson, Rick Udelhofen, Charles Lange, Kim Leamy, Kevin Koester Members Absent: None Also Present: Alan Tollefson, staff; George Lawson, consultant; Mayor Wehrle; Dave Timmerman, Herald Independent There was consensus that Tollefson should chair the meeting. Lawson indicated he was there as a resource, not a voting member. There was a discussion of the process to be followed in architect selection. Three firms will be selected for interviews and references will be called by Tollefson and Lawson prior to the interviews. Site visits will also be made prior to the interviews. An initial straw poll was taken. Discussion followed. Anderson moved, second by Steele that the following firms be invited for interviews: Durrant, Engberg Anderson, HGA. Carried unanimously. The committee then reviewed a draft of the interview process prepared by Lawson. Committee members were asked to submit additional questions and/or comments on listed questions to Tollefson. At the interviews, committee members will take turns asking questions with follow-up questions from anyone. Not all questions need to be identical for the three firms. The following members volunteered to make site visits: Anderson, Steele, Harper with Tollefson as staff. Tollefson will arrange for visits on Friday and Saturday, February 2-3. Expenses will come out of the building fund. February 28 was selected as the preferred date for the interviews with March 1 as a back up. City Hall will be the site. The committee preferred to use the Council Chambers with the Senior Room as a back up. (NOTE: Council Chambers turned out to be previously booked so the Senior Room will be the site.)
