Minutes of the Meeting of the
City of Lancaster Library/Cultural Center Review Committee
Tuesday, February 28, 2007

The meeting was called to order at 4:00 p.m. in the Senior Room at Lancaster City Hall by Alan Tollefson.

Members Present: Stuart Harper, George Steele, Ted Anderson, Rick Udelhofen, Charles Lange, Kim Leamy, Kevin Koester (at 4:45)

Members Absent: None

Also Present: Alan Tollefson, staff; George Lawson, consultant; Mayor Wehrle (4:40 to 6:20 only); Dave Timmerman, Herald Independent; Scot Simpson (5:45-6:20 only)

Steele moved, second by Lange that the Minutes of the January 23 meeting be approved as mailed. Carried unanimously.

The committee then proceeded to interview the three architectural firms selected as finalists in this order: (1) HGA; (2) Durrant; (3) Engberg Anderson. Each interview consisted of a presentation by the firm followed by questions from the committee followed by a wrap up by the firm.

Following the interviews, the committee decided it would not be necessary to adjourn to closed session for its deliberations. Discussion followed.

The committee, by straw poll, narrowed the field by eliminating HGA. A second straw poll indicated a preference for Durrant. Anderson moved, second by Lange that Durrant be selected as the preferred firm, subject to successful negotiation of a contract. Carried unanimously.

The next meeting date was left open, depending on the progress of contract negotiations.

The meeting adjourned at 8:27 p.m.
