Meeting Notes

  1. Call Meeting to Order
Meeting called to order at 9:00 a.m.
  2. Roll Call
Members present were: Haas, Haskins, Kurth, Straka, Leibfried and Administrator Simpson. Absent was Fillback.
  3. Minutes of May 21 and May 24, 2007 meetings
Motion by Kurth, second by Haskins to approve the minutes of the May 21 and May 24, 2007 meetings. Motion carried.
  4. Discuss results of candidate reference checks
Administrator Simpson discussed the results of the candidate reference checks. Both Mr. Frank and Mr. Dittman had positive reference checks and clients that had worked with the two fundraising consultants were fairly happy with the work that had been completed. Both of Mr. Franks reference checks were clients from the 80's and 90's, with a few recent clients. Of the most interest, were the communities that had used both gentleman for work. In one community they used Mr. Frank for the feasibility study portion and another consultant separately to do the campaign. General comments were that Mr. Dittman was a little bit more assertive with his handling of the committees, whereas Mr. Frank takes a more reserved approach at laying out the steps that are to be done for the group itself. Mr. Dittman has a reputation of being more hands on in the process especially in the campaign area.
  5. Select fundraising consultant
There was a motion by Haskins, second by Straka to engage Church St. Associates, Larry Dittman, for the Phase I Feasibility Study with the agreement and cost details to be worked out by the City Administrator and a recommendation of such be made to the City Council at the June 18th meeting.
  6. Set next meeting date
The next meeting date will be determined, but mostly likely will be later in July after Church St. Associates begins work.
  7. Adjourn
Meeting was adjourned at 10:00 a.m.
