Speed Violations to be EnforcedPolice Chief urges drivers to be conscientious about their speed in Lancaster. The Lancaster Police Department advises drivers to pay closer attention to their driving. The department has seen an increase in resident complaints of speeding violations. In addition, residents have complained about drivers rolling through stop signs. In an effort to address resident concerns, the police department will shift some resources and increase traffic enforcement. Police Chief Dan Jacobson noted, "For those of you who haven't had a traffic ticket in some time, they start at $160.00. Writing tickets is one of the more unpleasant tasks of our job, so please pay attention to your speed and avoid this circumstance." Drivers are additionally reminded to yield for pedestrians in the crosswalks and be on the look out for children and adults heading to and from the pool, parks, and other recreation areas this summer. |
